Rainbow Hare is actually a study of a Belgian Hare (a domesticated breed), as opposed to a wild Brown Hare. As a result, his features are slightly softer than what you might expect.

The rich tones employed in his fur textures come through to good effect. In particular, the chestnut browns and blue tones seen across his back. Together they help widen the ‘Rainbow’ palette. I hope you can also see the ‘knowing intelligence’ in his eye? It’s the kind of look my own rabbit Basil gives me, when it’s time for a trip to the vet! Lastly, I was satisfied with the paint-spattering on Rainbow Hare, as I think its adds a sense of animation to the piece.
